FundEasy Platform Fees

All FundEasy products — including Events and Giving — use the same platform fee structure.

Standard Online Transaction Fees

Our pricing is simple and transparent:

• Payment Processing Fee - Charged by Stripe, the payment processor that moves money from your donorʼs card into your bank account. This is the standard cost of accepting card payments online. Typically, this is 2.9% + $0.30 per online transaction.

  • American Express transactions may carry different Stripe processing rates

  • International cards and certain card types may incur additional Stripe fees

  • Custom Stripe pricing arrangements may cause actual transaction fees to differ from the standard rates shown above

• Platform Fee - What you pay FundEasy for the software, events, donor management, and support. Itʼs set in your subscription, and itʼs separate from anything Stripe charges.

Nonprofit Processing Rates

Eligible nonprofit organizations may qualify for discounted processing rates through Stripe Nonprofit Pricing. To ensure you receive the lowest available rates, make sure your nonprofit pricing has been approved and enabled directly within your Stripe Account.

Optional Donor Fee Coverage

For Giving Pages — including Peer-to-Peer fundraising pages — donors can optionally help cover transaction costs, but only if fee coverage is enabled in your giving settings.

When enabled, donors are given the option to increase their donation by 4.5% to help offset payment processing and platform costs.

Your organization is not charged a flat 4.5% fee. Instead, the 4.5% amount is a suggested donor contribution designed to help cover transaction-related costs so that more of each donation reaches your mission.

Why 4.5%?

Stripe’s standard processing fee includes two parts:

• A percentage-based fee (2.9%)

• A fixed transaction fee ($0.30 per donation)

While Stripe technically charges “2.9% + $0.30,” presenting both a percentage and flat fee at checkout can feel confusing for donors. To simplify the experience, FundEasy displays a single recommended cover amount of 4.5%.

The 4.5% recommendation is intentionally designed to work well across a wide range of donation sizes. This approach keeps checkout simple while helping maximize the amount of each donation that reaches your mission.

Consider Offline Donations for Large Gifts

Because transaction fees are percentage-based, larger donations result in higher processing costs. While donors are often comfortable covering fees on smaller gifts, major donors may prefer alternative payment methods for larger contributions.

For significant gifts, consider encouraging offline donation methods such as checks, donor-advised fund (DAF) gifts, stock transfers, or ACH payments when appropriate. Offline donations can still be recorded and reported within FundEasy without incurring online transaction fees.
