Duplicating an event is a fast way to create a new event based on an existing one. Instead of starting from scratch, you can carry forward your event setup, branding, and configuration so you can focus only on what’s changing—like the date, title, and registration experience.

To begin, go to your Events list, locate the event you want to replicate, and select Duplicate Event from the right-hand menu.

You’ll enter the standard event setup flow, just like creating a new event. The key difference is that many fields will already be pre-filled based on the original event.

At the start of setup, you’ll also have the opportunity to confirm or change the event template. This is especially useful if you’re using a previous event as a reference but need to move it into a different structure.

Event duplication is designed to significantly reduce repetitive setup work while keeping full flexibility at every step. It gives you a strong starting point—pre-filled with your previous decisions—while still ensuring each new event is structurally correct for its template and registration flow. In short: it’s the fastest way to go from “existing event” to “new event ready to customize,” without losing control of any part of the setup.

What Event Duplication Brings Forward

Event duplication carries forward the core structure and configuration of your original event so you can move quickly through setup without re-entering everything manually.

The following items will be copied—and can all be reviewed or edited before publishing:

• Event template (pre-selected, but changeable during setup)

• Event title

• Speaker information and speaker description

• Attendance goal and event capacity

• Venue name and full address details

• Event settings and configuration choices

• Parking instructions

• Banner image and custom branding (including colors, if used)

• Communication settings, including notification preferences

• Custom messaging within event templates, including any edited or personalized content

Everything that is duplicated is fully editable, so you can fine-tune the new event without being locked into previous settings.

What You Still Set Up for the New Event

While duplication brings forward the majority of your event configuration, the new event still requires a fresh setup for:

• Registration forms (created fresh for each event)

• Any registration-specific flow or structure tied to the selected template

This is intentional, since registration experiences can vary significantly between event types (for example, free vs. paid events or host-based vs. non-host-based structures).

When to Use Event Duplication

Event duplication is especially helpful when:

• You’re running a recurring or similar event

• You want to reuse a proven setup and structure

• You need to quickly spin up a new date with the same configuration

• You created an event in the wrong template and need to restart in the correct one without rebuilding everything

In the case of a wrong template, duplicating the event allows you to:

1. Start fresh setup with the existing configuration as your base

2. Select the correct template at the beginning of the flow

3. Rebuild only the registration forms for the new structure
